I watched The Hurt Locker again during the weekend. One big thing I like about the film is the way shaky cam is used throughout the film. I think Kathryn Bigelow decided to do that to achieve an unplanned, natural feel. Most people say that shaky cam gives an unnatural feel, but I believe that it gives you a more human, natural feel. Still, steady shots feel too robotic to me and doesn't have that natural feel. Maybe shaky cam is something I could incorporate into my coursework.
