As well as The Flash, Arrow had its mid season finale this week. I thought the ending was very well edited. The Christmas song, "Little Drummer Boy" is being played over the scene, as Oliver and Felicity get ambushed by troops firing machine guns. This creates a contrapuntal effect. The episode ends with a cliff hanger, which is effective because it forces the audience to come back and watch the next episode.
